We lost one of our dear semi-colon friends today at 1:30PM mountain time after a very long and courageous fight. Those that have been on the board for a while know him as our resident researcher.

He was uncanny with finding neat and interesting articles on the internet and if you wanted to know what something was, you just had to ask him.

Some of the ladies that attended CP3 in Austin found out what a great dancer he was and his bantering with SpongeBob and 2behealed made me laugh out loud often.

I will miss my friend but am glad he is dancing again and in no pain!!!!

Thank you for this update Lisa. I had thought about Bud recently since he had not posted in a while. Actually I was just thinking about him yesterday. He was one of the first people I put on my "Friends" list and as some of you may know, he was a fellow Alaskan at that time.
I am very grateful to have known him, even if was only in "cyberspace".
    Godspeed Bud,

I am so very, very sorry to hear this news. He was one of the very first people to respond to my first post and I was just thinking about him the other day. I know he is at peace now, but he will surely be missed by all. My condolences.

Bud was "one of a kind". After getting to know him in Austin, I felt like I knew him my whole life. Not a more caring, compassionate and loving soul.

Bud, save a dance for me up there, will you?

Check out my Expressions Gallary for Bud enjoying himself and dancing in Austin!!

It was with a heavy heart that I received the news today, but thankfully talking to scouty, we could have some comic relief....it held back the inevitable tears......for the time being.

Bud was my dear friend from the moment he started logging on. As a dog musher, (me) and an Alaskan bushman (he) we hit it off from the get-go only to discover time and again how much we had in common. And so began a wonderful friendship with my sage, my mentor, my friend. He called me his guru whenever I fussed at him for his diet or when I encouraged him to dig deeper into the alternatives (you all know what I a nag I can be! HA!). But he always always stood by me and supported me. I loved him in return and gave him my family to share. He knew my kids, especially my little one who bonded with him when he drove over 600 miles out of his way to come see me on his way to Austin for the Palooza that I could not attend.

Didn't you just love the sound of his voice? So gentle and full of love. And his spirit.....and his crankiness on here when his computer was always giving him problems. But thank god for that computer or none of us would have "met" him either on here or in person. And my life, for one, is the better for it.

I am so glad I was able to have a real heart to heart with him a couple weeks ago on a night where he was quite lucid. I will miss him on here and in my life.

Somewhere he is cutting a rug, charming the ladies, and free from pain.

    On by bud! On by!

    peace, emily who weeps

I never met him in person but was impressed with his thoughtful posts. I noticed he had not been posting for a while but didn't think of the reason. Your message is a real shock. Bud will be missed.

How can you feel such loss for someone you have never met. Bud's spirit was global , we felt him here in Australia. Rest in peace mate.

I am sitting here in shock and sadness with the news. I only knew Bud through this board, but we spoke often. I had not heard from him in so long, but that would happen, so I never realized that he was not doing well. We had many a "rash" discussion - we would compare notes about his erbitux rash and my husband's and share what worked and what did not. Your news brings a reality that I was not facing--Bud was just always there. He will be missed - I feel so sad and the tears are running....I pray and know he is in a better place, but somehow feel very empty right now.

I was so sorry to hear this news. Bud was one of the first to welcome me to this board, as he appears to have been to so many others. He frequently brought me and others information and comfort. His spirit certainly lives on. Lisa P, thank you for letting us know -- and thaks to you all for sharing your memories and tributes.

Bud was one of a kind. His bravery and defiance to this disease were wonderful! Live strong today and laugh when you can...in honor of Bud! Keep fighting survivors.....we all have miles to go before we sleep!
