Hi Everyone,
I got back yesterday from cruising Alaska. I had a great time! We had unusually beautiful weather the whole week. I could have stayed a lot longer.

Now it's back to reality and the daily routine. My daughters went back to school today and I start chemo on Wednesday. Yuck!!! Why is it that when you're having fun time goes so quickly?

Take care,
Jamie

Good to see you back! You're right ...went to the Skywalk over Grand Canyon and the time flew by! Happy you're trip to Aslaska went well! What did you enjoy the most?

Alaska is so beautiful! I lived there for 3 years in Fairbanks during the building of the Alaskan Pipeline. I would not want to stay there forever, but it is a beautiful place short term. Guess I'm just not that fond of cold weather, gearing children up in snowsuits, mittens, boots, caps, etc. I will admit that a person can climatize to different temperatures. I remember a woman from Fairbanks talking about going to Texas on vacation in the summer and getting sunburned. I thought, "Gee! I can put on #%$# gear, and you can't put on sun block." Funny how you remember some conversations but not where you put your cell phone or keys.
Seriously, I would love to take a cruise there in the summer. Sounds fantastic!
Sorry you have to return to reality, but now you have made a memory that you can relive and enjoy over and over.

I don't think I can say what I enjoyed the most, though I did especially enjoy whale watching. There was so much to see and do and all of it was great!

Yea! I am so happy that you went on your cruise after all. I know the weather was glorious that week. My sister was up here visiting and I thought about you and was so happy it wasn't raining!!
I told her how lucky she was to have weather like that in August.
Too bad you weren't in this "neck of the woods". I know how you feel about getting back to reality. My parents, who were also visiting, left yesterday and Friday it's back to work with this really yucky guy who does not like me and is mean, mean, mean. (plus he has a B.O. problem!). So, I can't say I would rather do chemo, but I might rather eat a few cockroaches!
Take care and hang in there. "This too shall pass", as my brother always tells me.

Cockroaches? Do they help? Maybe that is the cure. I think I could do if the doc said it would keep cancer away. What a thought! ugh

    Hi Susan,
I'm so glad that I made the decision to go on the cruise. No one could believe how good the weather was.
I'm glad you had a good visit with your family.
The guy you work with must be pretty awful if you're willing to eat cockroaches! I'm sorry you have to deal with someone that bad.
    Take care,
    Jamie

    Hi Jo Ann,
You are right. I have made great memories! We have tons of great pictures. I really enjoyed spending the time with my daughters and giving them some great memories also.
