Well, I had a CT scan, blood work, and colonoscopy last week and all came back negative. My surgeon did my colonoscopy and she said she wouldn't have been able to find my surgery site if there wasn't a staple in there denoting the spot!!! Yeeehaa!

My CEA remains below 1. So cool.

The only downside is that I might have crossed over into diabetes as my fasting blood sugar was high. My husband is diabetic and I've been testing my morning fasting sugar and it is high every day. Ugggh. I had always had gestational diabetes with my pregnancies and figured the day might arrive when I'd cross over into diabetes, but I was kinda hoping to avoid it. I'm doing a test tomorrow to determine if I am diabetic or not.

Anybody have any thoughts on whether chemo can injure the pancreas and bring on diabetes? I am just curious.

It'a always great to hear about NED's social life.
Maybe with you and your husband on a the same diet it won't be as hard to plan meals. Even if you aren't diabetic it is still a healthy diet.
Good luck on your glucose testing.

Your dance with NED is wonderful news. I'm not aware of chemo affecting the pancreas as far as promoting diabetes. However, stress can be a trigger. If you do have it we will hope that exercise and diet will be enough to manage it.
