Hi all, I hope you all had a great 4th vacation, time off or whatever. I have been without the internet for the last week and feel a bit out of the loop. Before I left I mentioned I was having a scan again due to back pain. Well once again the original site is lighting up and they believe it is cancer again. I will be starting my 4th go around at chemo on the 16th of this month. Part of me wants to break down and just freak out but I know that does not help. I am preparing myself to fight as many times as necessary to beat this **** of a disease.

I refuse to let this colon cancer define who I am so I will just have to rise above it. I appreciate all the support you all give me and I am always grateful for having you as my buddies. Chemo or not, Colon Palooza here I come.
Limey.

Aw, sweetie...this beast IS a true terrorist!!!

But a little 'freak out' is not a bad thing...as long as you come back afterwards to reality.

I went and saw, of all things, the new Robin Williams movie. I watched it, and while other people were laughing around me, I started feeling sadder and sadder. By the time I got to my car, I sat there, with the radio on full, sobbing. I felt sooooo much better afterwards. I also know of a gal who invested in a bunch of cheap, breakable glassware. She had a block wall in her backyard (NOT in public..lol). When she would start to feel the 'crazies' coming on, she would go thru stuff against her wall.

Cancer takes control away from us. This is a terrible frustration!

    Hugs from a PILLOW thrower!

    Hugs, Kathi

    Limey,
I am so sorry to hear this news. Keep that chin up. I sure do know what you mean about the freaking out part. I'm afraid i haven't done such a good job of not freaking out with my last news (elevated CEA despite treatment. CAT later today). I think a small freak out is ok. It allows you to release some pent up feelings and then get back to the fight at hand. But if that doesn't work for you I can understand that to. Good luck in your next fight!

PS. Nice photo on the CSN home page!

    Hi Limey,
I like your pic on the homepage BTW. You look like a party animal!
I am sorry I don't know where your scan is lighting up, but my friend who has survived 8 years w/o a period of remission just sent me the article I posted (above). I don't know if it is applicable in your situation or not? but as you can see there are many new and innovative treatments coming out all the time.
    Best wishes,
    Susan H.

    Hi buddy!!!!

I am so sorry for you. Is it just the one spot lighting up? I know it is hard but you have got to remember how far you have come since January. Keep up the regime, it took me a year before my onc. would agree the durn mets were all dead cells.

I can't wait to meet you and hug your neck in Nashville and btw....no way you are the cowardly lion, that photo had to have been taken after you got the courage award.

    Hugs and kisses, Lisa P.

I'm so sorry to hear that news. You got through this before, you can do it again. It's okay to freak out---then be strong and have faith. Rise above it and fight the beast again. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

    Limey,
So sorry to hear your news. My husband finds out Wednesday what his PET scan reveals, this will be his second go around with this disease. He just finished his first round of chemo the begining of June and his follow up CT scan showed some new stuff. Keep up the fight, I will keep you in my prayers. Sandy

Sorry to hear it Limey. I like what you said about not letting colon cancer define who you are. So true... and so difficult when it seems to control so much of the agenda. Rise above!
    Blessings... Rob

    Dear Limey,

Prayers are being sent your way.

Are they sure? Lots of things can light up a PET scan.

    Hoping for the best!

So sorry to hear about your latest bout with the beast.
You have a real attitude, a really great one! We will just have to funnel margarita mix into your port and fix you right up in Nashville. Even with this disease you have chosen do as much as you can.
Remember it is hard to go forward when looking backward.

Limey: I agree with everyone else, freak out if you need to, and then back to work. This is just a blip, just hop over it and keep up the fight. Monica
