Well, last week was rough I have to say. My CA125 went up once again after my third treatment of Doxil. I broke out on my legs, my chest ect. Now my mother is ready to order the Protocel, but I am nervous. I have not said anything to my doctor. He was not real encouraging last Monday, but now today I feel better. I just have to figure out what my next treatment will be.
I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. Keep praying. Love, Jan

Dearest Jan, so sorry you got the doxil rash, it is an awful rash. Please call and talk to your Dr before starting the protocol. I know in fighting this disease one gets desperate and tired, but gather all the information together and take it to your next office visit. I have had friends bring me noni juice, cases of somthing else - chemo brain can't rmemeber now lol- and even Vibe, with stories of how its cured cancer. I check with my doc and then try it but unfortunately still have the cancer. I guess I am one of the women who get to live in spite of cancer, I thank the Lord for that one too. Yes it hasn't taken our lives yet! I pray you find something to give you at least a break. Let us know what you decide and how you are doing. I will pray extra prayers for you as I recover from this latest treatment of carbo. See I am in bed for a reason... to pray for you! May you feel God's grace, peace and mercy surround you.

    Hugs N Prayers Bonnie

Thank you so much ladies! I appreciate you all so much. Well my mother ordered the Protocel yesterday. She is really excited, has talked to alot of people. The only chemo you can take while you take protocel is Gemzar, so I will tell my doctor that when I see him on the 9th.
Joanne what kind of side effects did you have with Gemzar if you don't mind my asking? The next thing we were suppose to try is Topotecan.
Bonnie I am sorry the carbo put you to bed but I sure do treasure your prayers, you are in mine also.
Well I look forward to hearing from you all. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. With Love, Jan

Hi Jan, I hope you will keep us posted about the protocel...very interesting alternative. I was on Topotecan for 5 mos. then switched to Gemzar when the other quit working. So far the Gemzar has lowered my blood counts but the only side effect I can notice is the fatigue. Every body is different, of course. I was interested to hear that you are allowed the Gemzar at the same time as the protocel. How would you know which one is doing the work? Hope your rash is subsiding by now. Thinking good thoughts for you and sending hugs and prayers.

I hope by today you are feeling a little better, LOTS better. Let us know how things go with the Protocel. We would all be very interested. More importantly, we want to know how you're doing, and we'll be waiting for the post that says, 'My Numbers Have Come Down!'
    Take care.

    Jan Q.,
For the most part Gemzar was the best and easiest chemo I was on for 15 tx. Everyone told me that it usually lowers your blood counts, and boy does it. The did a CBC before the tx. and my chemo nurse called the Onc, to give him the results and he still ok'd the dose. I feel exhausted, and I will be having Procrit shots every week. I feel like I'm dragging 50 lb. weights on both legs, and extremely out of breath, when ever I walk anywhere. I'm taking Protonix for the heartburn which has really helped, but I still have some breakthrough heartburn. I did a stress test monday, it must have been ok becasue I haven't heard from the Dr,Tommorrow I go see a gastro DR., for maybe a hida scan to checnk out the common bile duct that continues to increase in size, but they can't see what the cause is. Hopefully I'll start feeling better soon. Thanks for the prayers...(((hugz)))>.JOanne

I love you all! I am excited, I am leaving Saturday for a week long reunion with about 50 family members in the mountains. We have done this since I was a child and now my children have grown up with this tradition and hopefully there children will also. I am sure I will be getting alot of input on the Protocel this week. lol I think my entire family are going to quit sugar (try) with me. I have read alot about sugar feeding cancer(and yeast). It is going to be interesting, but I am excited. We will also discuss taking the Gemzar I am sure.
I have to go have some blood work today before I have cat scan tomorrow. I think I will feel better when I get the results of the cat scan.
Well I had better get to work.
Thank you all again, you all encourage me!
    God Bless and Love, Jan

Have fun Jan! Sounds like you are ready for anything and have a great support system. Hugs and prayers and good luck on the sugar thing! I've wondered about that...and the ph idea that cancer can't live in an alkaline environment.
    Have a wonderful time!

JOANNE: How exciting! Enjoy every moment. Bask in the joy of being with family and all the blessings it brings!
PAULA & JOANNE! Yes, sugar definitely is known to be a 'feast' for cancer. And definitely the pH theory also, which is now no longer a theory. Lots of things you can do to keep your body in an alkaline state.

We must do all we can for ourselves. Let's continue to share thoughts, ideas, facts, etc. It teaches us, inspires us, and motivates us to move on and take our health into our own hands.

    HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
