Just wanted to say that I endured my check-up at MDA two weeks ago & I'm still NED! Good news makes these nasty tests worth it.

GOODBYE to one rectal tumor, 12 liver tumors and five lung tumors.

Thanks for all of your support!
Much love,
Aileen

So nice to hear!!! Congrats! This type of thing gives everyone hope. My worst fears are the cancer coming back in other organs. Have canceritis right now because of some pain that I'm getting checked out. HUGS and thanks for the lift!

    Dear oneagleswing:
I'd be glad to share my treatment plan and I'll try to keep it short:

Diagnosed in May '05 with Stage IV colorectal. One rectal tumor, twelve liver tumors and five suspicious lung spots. No lymph nodes lit up on Pet scan. Started chemo, at Johns Hopkins, with Folfox and Avastin, with a 46 hour take-home pump. Did this for 4.5 months. Rectal tumor resolved completely using chemo. Went to MD Anderson and had liver resected by Dr. Steven Curley. A few lymph nodes biopsied- all negative. More post-surgery chemo, same protocol. In Oct. of '06 the lung spots finally lit up on a Pet scan. Took 2 months of same chemo, then lung resection by Dr. Rice at MD Anderson on Feb. 1st '07. Then took post lung surgery chemo again.

Tally: 2 years clear for rectal tumor, 18 months clear from liver tumors and 3 months clear for lung tumors.

    Hope this helps!

I'm curious to know what treatment (s) you had? My stepson, 33, rectal tumor removed, now mets to lung. Being treated now at Duke. Would love any info.
