Hey guys and gals,
Hoping everyone is doing well dealing with the dragon.
I am having a bad last couple of days. Just need to vent(sorry). Things are starting to worry me. I have been out on disability since nov 06. The bills are starting to pile up. Now wife is not happy with her job. I want to get back to work but I am still having pain and discomfort from my surgery in dec 06. Also the hospital od me on morphine, which caused my kidneys to shut down and then they gave me more fluids to get my kidneys working and my heart started. Since all this when I walk I get winded in a short time. This never happened before. I don't know if the overdose has caused this or not. Sorry to vent but I have no one to talk to.
Be well
Never,ever give up
Bruce

Sorry your having a rough time of it. To quote a cliche seems like sometimes when it rains it pours. Have you spoken to doc about the shortness of breath symptoms? If not , I urge you to do so as soon as possible. Have you applied for long-term disability? as in social security disability benefits? If not you may want to look into that. Good luck and prayers for brighter day tomorrow. God Bless

    Bruce,
I'm sorry for what you are going through. I would definitely look to my doc to explain the shortness of breath (SOB). THe build up of fluid from poorly working kidneys could certainly lead to SOB.
I've been on disability a few times during this ordeal and the amount of money I got just isn't the same as when I work.
I also worry about my husband who is the breadwinner in our family. I feel like I've locked him into that job, since that is where out medical insurance is from. So I understand your concerns about your wife. YOu want her happy, but need that income.
I have no answers, but wanted to let you know that I have a very small idea of how you feel.

Aw, Bruce...I am sending hugs your way....

PLEASE, PLEASE mention the shortness of breath to your doctor...it needs to be taken seriously. We survivors shouldn't self diagnose. Ever.

Don't ever feel like you have to appologize for venting. As fellow warriors, we all have our moments, and are very sympathetic. The people on the 'outside' cannot completely comprehend what our minds do to us...sigh....

I will turn your words to you...."Be well"...that includes a free 'pity party' pass whenever necessary!

    Hugs, Kathi

Hey Bruce, sorry your hitting a hard spot in the road. I have had shortness of breath and was really concerned when I had my last scan. In fact, I questioned the radioligist to make sure they got a good shot of my lungs. My lungs were fine. The doctor attributes thisissue to my lack of exercise. I struggled with walking for a while. See your doc but don't let it get you down. Sometimes it is just what it is, shortness of breath. My work let me come back part time, it really helped me with the fatigue at first. I hope otpions like that open up for you. A solution will come

G'day Bruce. Apology not accepted mate. You should know by now Bruce that you NEVER need to apologise for venting your frustrations here. We are all in need of telling someone of our frustrations...I too many times came here to look for support. I am sorry that you are having a rough time of it my friend and although nothing I can say will help I wanted to write and let you know that I hope things change for the better. Many times you had kind words for me when I was in need of support. I am lucky to be doing so well mate but still feel for all you guys and gals doing the tough miles. Our very best Bruce, Ross and Jen

As you say Kathi, we all have our moments. Sometimes we just need the outlet that this site gives us.
Hang in there, and know that we all
    understand about pity parties.

    Hi Bruce,

You are always sending your best to everyone and know it's time for us to share ours with you. I am sorry you are struggling with so many issues right now. I agree with the others about speaking with your doctors and getting their assessment.

I'm praying for positive resolutions to your situations.

    Hugs,

As the others said, never appologize for venting. That is what we as a family are here for. I'm sending good vibes that you find out what is causing the issue and get it fixed. HUGS.

Bruce, Sorry to hear that things are a little bit rough. You can always vent here! Your surgery and recovery probably just robbed you of your conditioning. I would bet that some rest and healthy activity will allow your stamina to rebuild. I know how it is to work while fatigued and it stinks! Keep a positive outlook and work positively toward healthfulness. Eat well, sleep well, stay active and stay engaged in life. Things will improve!
