For my daughter...I miss her....

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard His call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I've found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lenghten it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me FREE.

I love you, Stephanie....

HUGS! I can't imagine what you are going through. The poem was lovely and made me miss my dad even more. I know he is in a better place but I'm hoping the "void" of him not being here gets smaller over time.

    Hi Kathi -

That's lovely -thanks for sharing. I cannot begin to imagine the pain of losing a child and I really feel for you.

It is honestly true that I just got off the phone with my brother (whose wife's mother just died) and so I was feeling all sad again about the loss of my mother (Jan 2006)and then I read your post. I'll be thinking of you, but wanted you to know that you also helped me and I have shared this with my sister-in-law.

    Take care,
    Betsy

This is such a comfort to me to think that Stephanie is in a place clear of all of the troubles she had...
And to realize that this has helped you, as well, makes me smile.

I told a reporter today...the great thing about being touched by cancer is that you are immediately welcommed into a big, loving family....that is what you all are to me!

    Kathi,
It's hard for me to see the keyboard through my tears; what a touching poem. The loss of a child is so painful to contemplate, I wish you strength and peace as you continue to cope. Judy
