Hi everyone,

I just want to let you know that my dad (diagnosed a year ago with stage III and then two months later stage IV with liver mets)is still NED. We got the good news today. His colonoscopy was clean also. For those who don't know, he finished his chemo treatments three months ago. We were very nervous about this scan because he has been off of the chemo. This is especially good news because he and my mom will be spending two months in Florida and their plans were sort of up in the air until now. Thank you so much to all who prayed for us. God bless you all.

Best wishes to everyone for a happy holiday season!!!

    Hatshepsut,

My dad first started out on folfox + avastin for about four months and then switched to Xeloda + avastin for two months. He got a total of six months chemo. The reason they switched to Xeloda was because my dad was tired of having to go in and wait 2-3 hours for his infusions, so the onc recommended a more "home based" treatment. He did pretty well with the folfox and avastin, however, had a difficult time with the Xeloda. I noticed he was very tired and had lost a little more weight while on the Xeloda. My dad also took some supplements and changed some things in his diet. He is still taking the supplements. Also, prayer has really gotten him and my whole family through all of this. I believe that played a big role. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to help.

    God bless,

    -Lee-
