i have not been posting lately... ok, it's been a few years but the runner checks in every once in a while so here goes.
i am at the five year point now and my oncologist told me to come for two more scans (once per year) for the next two years since he wants seven before declaring me a *real* survivor. then the chances will be so very miniscule, i will have to live for several centuries before the danger of a recurrance. well, i am not a vampire so i will probably never find out if he is right but i am glad to have made it so far and want to share my good fortune with you all in hopes that it will provide some sort of inspiation.
not that i did anything special as far as diet or exercise (sorry, em) i am pretty lazy as you can see from my slack participaton in this group of late.
i cannot even say that i put up much of a fight. i simply followed doctor's orders which was easy as they doped me up pretty good.
i kinda miss that oxycontin (nice ride) but consider myself lucky to be pain free. i did not really care if i lived or died in the hospital back then because of all the drugs. fortunately my family and friends did not have to suffer my demise.
we have a new baby in the family now. my niece made a special delivery just for me. "if it's a boy, he's yours, auntie!"
she wanted another girl but we are delighted with the new arrival. he is a great sleeper much to everyone's relief.
i should update my profile #$+^&* i just spilled coffee all over my keyboard! oh well, later for that...
stacy mentioned that we should privide a contact to let folks know if we are still alive or what so i hang out on my photoblog at flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/indiewench/
as long as i have breath in my body i will be using my camera preferring to let the pictures speak for themselves.

i have tagged all the pix of *moi* but i am always behind the camera so they are mostly reflections in a window or mirror.

my doctors are counting from the date of diagnosis otherwise i would be three years and six months post treatment (last chemo)
i know how the time drags when you are counting but it goes very fast for me now that i am more or less clear.
a volunteer cancer survivor visited me in hostpital and told me to take it one-day-at-a-time. a cliche that makes sense when they are probing for usable veins and testing testing testing! every month... then every three... then four... six... and now only once a year. yeah!
    hang in there.
