A few days ago I posted a note asking about famous people with colon cancer. Today I was at my infusion center (getting an infusion of Avastin WITHOUT Erbitux!!!!!!!!!!!) and there was a People magazine. In this magazine I saw an advertisement for Olympus digital cameras with Dennis Quaid saying something about the importance of getting scoped for colon cancer. I don't think he HAS cancer, but he was appearing in the advertisement for Olympus, who is donating a portion of their sales to colon cancer research.

So there is at least some public awareness.

Well, that is pretty cool: a totally cute guy, a great camera company, and a terrific cause. And, you having a better chemo day...pretty good all around. Glad to hear all of it - Maura

    Hi Rodney,
I think this is great that Dennis Quaid is helping with colon cancer awareness. I for one never thought many people had colon cancer until I got sick and did some research and found CSN group. I now have my family getting checked regulary which makes me feel good because they listened and researched also. I hope you are feeling well..Hugs to you..Audrey

Olympus is the "inventor" of a cutting edge new colon imaging device. The company has taken a real interest in colorectal cancer research and is doing great things - both medically and philanthropicaly. They have made significant donations to various colon cancer advocacy groups. Next time you're in the camera shop and deciding between a Kodak and an Olympus - let this info be your guide! think of it as an investment in YOUR future.

Cool, SB, never knew that...of course, before Nov 04 I didn't even know what colorectal cancer was....sigh....what an education I'm getting!
Thanks for the info. Maybe there will soon be an alternative to our friend, the colonoscopy???
    Hugs,

I'd take Dennis Quaid as a guest Semi-Colon anyday!!

I thought he lived in Montana? Well he used to with Meg. Oh well, what does it matter since I don't live in Montana anymore anyway! haha

We need some Colon Cancer "poster child" to further our cause.....

A few weeks ago I purchased a low-end digital camera for this upcoming trip. It is a Kodak and is total crap (I suppose if I made a scene I could exchange it, but I'm only making snapshots anyway). Definitely go for an Olympus ... now we have a great reason to do so!

    Hey Em,

I have an Olympus and will be using it at the CP-3 next week. If you were coming to Austin, I'd show you where his house is. It is across the lake from Sandra Bullocks! Woohoo!
