Finished chemo!

I have finished chemo! It was a little anti-climatic, as my final round was cancelled, due to low white blood cell counts and generally reaching the toxicity limit (I won't go into all the gory details). But, I completed 11 out of the planned 12 rounds of FOLFOX. I am sending particular best wishes to those on this board who are currently undergoing chemo. It does end!!!! Meanwhile, I can now concentrate on strengthening and healing my body -- and a return to normalcy (or, what counts for normalcy in this game....).
Best wishes to all,
Tara

Good for you, Tara! I hope that you are feeling okay. I remember when my oncologist decided that I had reached the toxicity limit ... I felt so sick and I was very glad to be kicking 5FU out of my regimen. Do you know if there are any future plans for treatment at all, or is this really the end of treatment?

this is truly the end for now. I'll be having a PET scan mid Jan. I'll only have more tx if I have a relapse.

Congratulations on reaching this milestone! I felt relieved to know that the end of chemo was the worst of how I would be feeling; it has only gotten better since. Give yourself plenty of time and TLC; what a great present! Judy
