1 year anniversary with you great people

May 6 makes one year since my husband Tim age 52 had colon cancer surgery. Stage III with 8 out of 23 positive lymph nodes. We got through it and continue to get through it with your help. You have truly been my lifesavers. In the middle of the night when he is sleeping and I need to stay strong for him you are always right here. He is today doing quite well, he has regained some of his energy and with that his dignity, he mowed the lawn today (he hasn't been able to that for over a year) he still has tingling in his hands and feet that seems to bother him constantly especially in his sleep when he cries out and beats his hands on the bed. It makes me cry and I get up and reach for you my support. I have brought back to him all your success stories and comraderie. He is shy but I may have him convinced to come to palooza II it would be wonderful for him and good for me too. Thanks for all that goes on with this board. If I can ever do anything for you caregivers or survivors please do not hesitate to ask. Louise

    Louise: October will be my 5th anniversary of life with Colon Cancer, and I will be at the Palooza to celebrate with the folks who have supported me through it all..I don't think I would have made it this far without the semi-colons. The best gift is to continue to monitor this site and share your insight and experience with those who need it. Nanuk

    Shy and hanging around us semi-colons will last about a minute, at most. He will love us too. How can he not!!!!

    Nanuk is right, we are here for ourselves sure, but I think more importantly, we are here for others, because there is always one of us that knows exactly where someone else is at any given time.

    I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!

    Congratulations to your hubby Louise. I am just over 2 years out from surgery and currently NED. I have been coming here for all of those 2 years and to put it lightly.....how I would have gotten this far keeping my sanity without these guys I would not like to think about!
    Your hubbies surgery was a major event Louise.not to be taken lightly and it does take time for things to settle. Even now I have some after effects but certianly tolerable. I do a lot of things outdoors...a regular workaholic, but it took me over 18 months before I had the energy and fitness to even use a shovel in the garden. All in good time Louise!

    Congratulations to you both. I hope the neuropathy lessens, but still, it's great to be here, isn't it?! And thank you, Louise and all other caregivers, for joining us on this difficult journey.
