Update on Marty

I guess I may have left you all wondering what is going on. Marty has a blood infection that probably came from her iv. She has a very high fever and the doctors are doing everything they can to break it as well as prevent organ failure. This has been going on for several days and there has not been much change. Sepsis is a very dangerous blood infection but is often treatable. She has been on xigris to try to fight it, but she has not responded to it. She has been unconscious (in and out...mostly out) and is breathing with the help of a respirator. It is all pretty scary. I've been trying to be there and be supportive, but I am feeling really overwhelmed. She used to talk about CSN and the people on it and I have come to find it especially supportive in the last week or so. Thank you all for that.
Keep praying for us...something will happen soon.
Thanks...John

    John:
You are doing the best you can do for Marty - being there, showing your love for her. Talk to her, whether you think she hears you or not. Talk about positive memories, things that are special to the both of you. Speak to her softly, as if nothing else exists. Yes, sepsis is bad. My husband had it, but came through it very well. I realize Marty has additional complications, but nothing is impossible. Hang on to your hope and we will continue to send prayers your way.

John, I just heard this morning that Marty passed away last night at 10pm. I am so sorry to hear this sad news and wish I had the magic words to take away the pain you are having to deal with. I will continue to keep you and all family members in my prayers. Let us know if we can be of any help and please feel free to email me if you just need someone to talk to or a place to vent.

Many prayers coming your way. BonnieRose
