Last week after tests, we found a cancerous mass on my dads left lung, and a tumor in his right cerebellum. Today is the first treatment of radiation to the brain. I need any information or help on this, as to I don't know what to do about any of it. He is only 42, and father of 4. God Bless. Amy

My husband was dx. with lung cancer at the age of 41 on March 14, 2003. He never smoked so this came as a surprise to all of us. he is the father of 3 boys. He is still with us today and doing very well. Don't panic!! We were told it was Stage 4 with mets to brain and adrenal gland. He did brain radiation for 2 weeks. that was harder than any chemo he has been so far. Just be aware of that. It did work!! We have been on Iressa and a new wonderful chemo called Alimta now for a year and everything is smaller or stable. He is able to continue working and participate in our childrens lives. We are being treated in Houston at MDA and feel really good about everything. If you have any questions you can ask me anything. Good Luck

My mother has NSCLC in both lungs. Has not spread beyond the lungs thankfully. She's being treated at MD Anderson as well. She was dx in 11/04 and began Tarceva for the first 3 months with not much success. She's currently on Alimta and Carboplatin and it has kept the cancer at bay. She begins her 5th round this week. May I ask you how you like MD Anderson? My mother likes it but she finds it a little impersonal. I'm glad to hear your husband is doing well-it gives me hope!!
