A couple of weeks ago, I had an RP. My recovery and healing seem to be going amazingly well (Touch wood!). My question is, how soon can I resume some kind of sexual activity? My catheter comes out tomorrow, and I'm wondering if an activity such as masturbation (without an erection) would be possible without causing any harm to my works. Both my wife and I would like to know. Any advice? Thanks!

As far as harming yourself, I don't think you would. However, you may be surprised by how soon you could be seeing some kind of response to your emotional state. i.e. a gradual arousing leading to a partial erection once the catheter has been removed. You will probably not see an immediate firm erection at first, but the quality will improve.

Again, as I have said in the past, everyone responds differently. First and foremost, keep a possitive attitude.

If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail at my personal addresss.

Had catheter removed Nov 30, and Doc gave me samples of Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra, so I'm guessing its ok to play ;) Still not achieving full erection tho; may take another couple of months.

I'm 52 years old and I had my RP w/50% nerve spairng surgery on 03/17/04. I started having sex as soon as posible both soft and hard. I found it best to urinate before sexs to prevent a little leakage. I also had a little pain around my blatter after dry ejaculation. I found that I only felt pain when my stomach was full with food or gas. During a spicy dream, I had my first erection that was good enough for penetratiom. It took 11 months before I had a good natural erection. The only problem I'm having now is when I touch my erection it goes down. Viagra did not work for me but, injections are working for me with no side affects. The only advise I can give you is(uses it or lose it). Alot of stimulation (Smile) Good Luck and pray.
