I have had treatment for base of tongue 39 radrations and 5 weekly cemo finished 5 months but still can not eat very well keep chocking has any one else had this and if so how did you cure and how long did it take

    I had 48 radiations and 4 weekly chemo to cure my tonsil cancer. It took quite some time to get used to eating again and getting choked is a very common sight even though I am now almost 2 years after treatment. The best thing you can try is semi fluid and not pure soup. Cereals and congee are the best for me. E mail me direct if you need more suggestions. (karenng@ed.gov.hk)

    check with and ENT doctor and see if you need a throat diluation. this does help
