Hi everyone! I am new to this group, but not the site. I am usually in the breast cancer group, as I am a survivor, but now my 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. She just had surgery 2 weeks ago and is now having her lymph nodes biopsied tomorrow. She will soon be starting chemotherapy. I would love to chat with anyone who has been through this with their child.

Thanks!

Carrie

    Hi Carrie,
I have a daughter who had surgery for removal of a tumor on the right side of her face. It was rhabdomyosarcoma. That was in Jan. of 2000. She is now 2years and 7 mths in remission and we are so Thankful. I noticed that you first entered your message on Nov. 2002. So I hope that things have gone well for you. Please email back if you would like to chat. This is my first day on this web site, I am looking for survivors of this type of cancer that had it in the same location. We have scheduled some reconstructive surgery and I was trying to find information on results from others who have done reconstruction.
    Thanks!

    Hello Jacque,
Congrats to you and the little one...it's always so hard when it's one of your own. I, myself am only 6 months out of radiation. I had reconstructive surgery of my right side jaw due to the cancer found there. I had an EXCELLENT group of pediatric Dr's take great care of me. If you're from the Texas area (Houston) I could give you some names...Good Luck and I'll say some prayers.

    Keep Smilin'

Congrats too to you and your daughter. I too am a cancer survivor of this kind of cancer. 10 years as a matter of fact. I am 16 now and I was diagnosed when I was 5 1/2 years old. My cancer was in my left nasal area...(or atleast I think..it has been a while and I was jus a little kid at that time and I didn't really know what was going on.) During my 16 hour operation to get the tuomor out they took out my left temple and did some other things that caused my face to have reconstructive surgery a few years ago and just 4 month's ago. For this past surgery they took out a bone in my hip and placed it in different area in my face so my face would look more symmetrical. Now I am very pleased with the results. Feel free to email me. I would be more than happy to chat.

    Hi,

I am a 23 yr. survivor of rhambdomyrsarcoma. I was dig. at the age of 2. The tumor was located in the top of my mouth. I have had rad and chemo treatments. Due to the radiation I am legally deaf. I am able to hear by wearing a hearing aide and can carry on a normal conservation. I have problems dealing with social interactions such as relationships/communicating. Is there any one that has the same problems? I am looking to meet young childhood survivors(2-10) and any cancer survivor as well. If you have any ?'s email me at HappyScrap2@aol.com.
