Has anyone ever had\heard of this happening? My oncono pronounced this was the problem with one of my ankles while beachside this summer. I used a hat, 30 sunscreen, umbrella, did everything I had read or heard, to prevent melanoma or sunburn. This nasty patch of rash appeared on my affected-side ankle. I was stumped. Nothing worked on it. I stopped any sun exposure on it and it disappeared before any of my doctors saw it. So who doesn't get sand on their ankles@the beach?

Thanks Emmi for answering. I was beginning to think either I am a mutant or this was a bunch of hooey that my doctor was trying to hand me! Does it happen on the side your cancer was on? Mine didn't itch, it was just this scary reddish-purple color. I had on so much sunscreen, even to the ankles, that I couldn't imagine how I could possibly get a sun rash\sun poisoning! So does this mean sunscreen doesn't really protect us afterall?banker said:Hi, I get this once in a while, was told to much sun, sun-poisening,got it on my shin, just 1 leg, even with sunscreen, will go away when you are out of the sun. Rash looks like little red pimples, itchie ???? Hope this helps, Take care Emmi
