    Belated Wishes

A beach day sounds perfect for celebrating! I used to love Boone's Farm Apple wine served at the disco I went to in the late 70's. Boy, does that date me or what?

    I Won a Disco Competition!

    ....when I was 20!

Yes, it dates you! It dates me too!

    Ripple Hippie

    Happy Birthday, Deb

Lovely Birthday wishes with your husband and black lab at the beach.

The Boones Farm comment brought me back to my hippie days before we became wine snobs. LoL

    Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

    That Cheap Swill!

It wasn't really wine, was it?

Now it's all about pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, merlot....the good shizzle!

Yep, we're wine snobs, coffee connoiseeurs, cheese champs, and salad susies : )

    Yep, three pounds up

Since our stepson has lived with us for the last month. I'm doing WAY TOO MUCH cooking and eating! Getting back on the veggie and fruit diet I typically follow.

Maybe we should do a monthly birthday recognition post?

It is surely life affirming to see another birthday with what we all have been through.  Good to see you, Eldri!

    Love that idea!

Happy birthday to all those born in my favorite month of the year! I love September, although I wasn't lucky enough to be born then.

    It's my favorite month too!

    On the cusp of autumn

    Apple harvest

    Blue skies and orange leaves

    Tomatoes on the vines

School begins. Orange pee chees on the shelves.

    The yellow school bus

    The rains start here

Best weather month of the year!

Hands down. In the Midwest around Chicago where I grew up and Michigan where I live now it just doesn't get better than September. Not too hot, cooler evenings, bugs waning. I try to have my gardens peak in late August and September because it is just so nice to be outside. My bluebirds have fledged and retreated back into the forest, but hummingbird wars continue for the whole month while they guard the feeders as they migrate. I have perennial ageratum that attract Monarchs as they also migrate south, peaking about this time of year. Some years it is like a Disney movie we have so many.

    Bluebirds, Hummingbirds and Butterflies!

It doesn't get much better than that!  Thanks for sharing the wildlife.  I have so enjoyed watching the birds during the Covid Times!  Best wishes, Oldbeauty

    Happy birthday(s)!

A big Happy Birthday to you, Harmany, and to all the September Bday Girls!  Thanks for letting us share in the joy of your special day(s)! I haven't been on for a while. I am enjoying seeing the love given to newbies and am saddened to see some are no longer here to welcome and share as they always so graciously did.  I'm grateful to be able to report that November will be 2 years and I get to go from 3-month to 6-month check-ups. When do we stop scanning and thinking about recurrence...ever?

Love to all of you in the fight and standing with our sisters who are.

    thank you!

HappyWarrior - it is wonderful that you are coming up on two years! I strongly suggest you read the wonderful poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson that one of our members shared yesterday. I'm a semi retired English teacher and had NEVER read it! ha ha! imagine that (laughing).

It starts like this: 'Write this on your heart..."

Please throw it in your search engine and check it out. I swear, it may have changed my personal paradigm.

Thanks for saying hi! Seriously, this has been the worst. year. ever.! but so much better with all of the amazing women here who are such great role models and have so much wisdom.

We take her Red Robin, her

We take her Red Robin, her favorite commercial restaurant and have a themed party--usually just family. The family part is hard because we live in Utah and closest family is my kids in Denver. My MIL and BIL live in Austin and my family is scattered across the SE in KY, GA and FL. This year my son flew in to surprise her and my MIL was up here already. We had fun and lots of cake and ice cream!

Hope yours was great as well!

At my age, it's a birthday month!

My family pretty much dribbles gifts and dinners out to me, as they can never organize enough to have one event.

So, Jay and I had a mini tiramasu cake, and he brought me the flowers I'm horribly allergic to (does it every year at least once! it's a tradition!), and then I drove home from the coast to watch GOT episodes with my stepson and open his presents.

He got me a very cool knife sharpener, and a bunch of house cleaning products that smell like perfume (uh oh). I'm such a products snob. If it's not white vinegar in a glass spray bottle (diluted with water), it's Murphy's oil soap. It can also be Soft Scrub or a lemon furniture spray. Counter sprays? Nope. Window cleaner (the blue stuff) is okay. Anything else, nope. I'm a products snob!

I moved all the "stuff" that smells to the beach house today, and my people who stay here will love having the nice counter sprays, so it's a win.

For two days, I've been "Goodwill" shopping, which means clothing, and aqua items for the beach house. I LOVE MY BEACH HOUSE in Lincoln City, Oregon.

Do people really buy "counter spray"?

I have been making do all my life with a fresh hot wet rag, no soap. I do like the foamy stuff for the toilet bowl, I must admit. Cool

Counter Spray is typically too odiferous!

It's nasty stuff, for the most part. A little bleach with hot water is good, in my humble opinion!
