Surgery tomorrow

Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy tomorrow and I'm scared but hopeful that maybe I will get a good report and just be able decompress from all that has happened this last month.

May it be uneventful and boring.

Stress prior to the "big event"

That should be relieved a lot by now...and then it's on to recovery and feeling well again.  Hope the tests come back with great news.

    Early recovery

Eat lots of prunes or take something to have a bowel movement, start this now if you haven't already. Start walking when you can, first to the door and back again, then out into the hall, up and back, whatever you can do. Make sure you have a large cushion or pillow to press against your wound especially for the trip home and when you cough or laugh or get up from a chair or sit down. Have someone bring a large cushion or pillow from home for the trip home. No lifting or straining or twisting or turning, protect your wound area and avoid anything which might cause a hernia.

    Surgery went well....still in

Surgery went well....still in the hospital but might go home today. I'm still in a crazy amt of pain but it's getting less and less everyday....so far so good though! Dr said I would have the path report when I meet with him next week on mon or tues. So everything is moving right along.
