I loved that show by George Burns. It was genius. Also Mr Ed's cousin Francis was amusing to a small kid like me.

Addendum: Francis was a talking mule
    Diagnosis

Met with the opthamologist (M.D.) today.   Said no indication of any macular degeneration, of any stage.  He told me the O.D. was probably thrown off by the level of cataract, and how it was distributed, which does obscure the retna in a way that could be taken for m.d.  Should be scheduled for cataract surgery soon, which of course is a pretty safe and routne proceedure.   Thanks to all for the kind intentions,

    Good

Now, pay a little extra for upgraded inter-ocular lenses, make sure they put the correct ones in (ahem!) and you will be singing like Johnny Nash.

    Johnny Nash

On of my favorite hits back in the 70s.....  I like Jimmy Cliff's remake a little better, it has that Reggae vibe.   En-joy, Monn !  An upbeat turn for all here today.

    Max,

So glad you're feeling "very olympic"! Hope it lasts you more than just today...

As to "seeing clearly", hopefully, that'll be after surgery Cool

I haven't checked in for months and then find out they changed the format. And then I see this thread.

One of my reasons for not being on was my eyes. Little background. When I was about 4 I was diagnosed with a severe lazy left eye. My parents were afraid of surgery so they took me to doctor they had me do various exercises to strengthen the muscles in the left eye. I never got full vision in the left eye, just peripheral vision. So I am totally dependent on one eye.

So back in July I went to Lens Crafter for new glasses. I go only every 2 - 3 years. One of their scans found a bulging blood vessel in my right eye. I was then sent to an opthamologist who verified that it was near the front of the right eye. He said if it ruptured it would not affect the macular since is was by the front of the eye.

Around this time I learned a cousin has MD and so did her sister. (One had wet and the other dry. Don't remember which has which. ) Their mom didn't have MD but her sister (our aunt) did. I was worried. More so than when I was told I had cancer. My choice was to do nothing and just watch or take care of the blood vessel now. I went with the second option. He tried injecting the blood vessels but it didn't work so he had to laser it. All of this took place over 4 months. I did tell him about the family eye history and he said he did not see anything to be concerned. Looks like I may be seeing him more often than every 2 or 3 years.

    Lindary,

Good luck with your eye issues. As I wrote on some thread somewhere (before CSN put the entire history of this site in a big blender and ruined it), an Ophthalmologist determined that what an Optometrist thought was MD was actually not. You 'had not logged in here in a few months.' It looks like no one else has either. This new format sucks,

Prednisone accelerates the potential for cataracts.

It's SOP to administer w/ABVD and likely other chemo regimens
