FIVE YEARS and I'm still alive!!

Five years ago today I had my hysterectomy. When I went in for my first doctor visit, he gave me the bad news I had UPSC. He ordered an MRI and x-rays to see if it had spread beyond the cervix. Based on those test results he decided not to go back in and take lymph nodes. That's why I was given a Stage II/III, Grade 3 diagnosis. Of course, I went home and found a web page that said I had a 16% to 20% chance of being alive in five years. I was devastated! But yet, five years later, I am not only alive, but I also have not had a recurrence.

Luckily I found this forum! We have lost so many good women and I've tried to make sense about why I'm still here but there is no explanation. The help and support I have received are beyond measure!

So.... don't believe those statistics. Live the best life you can and enjoy every minute of it.

Love,

Eldri

    Such good news!

    Eldri,

Considering the tough time you had with chemo and some residual side effects, reaching this milestone is really something to be savored! Whether you're in Florida or Wisconsin, I hope you and your husband can do something nice to celebrate.

    Right on, Eldri

I have been feeling really down lately so celebrating with you is a joyous thing.   I am reminiscing about some of your stories ( especially the one about your little dog and your wig) and look forward to reading many more.
