I was in a clinical trial for my matastized breast cancer that is known as Piq Ray. I was the longest survivor for the study I was in, but had too leave the study due to it effecting my kidneys. I started another clinical trial when my tumor started growing again. This was with a very new drug with very little data. It is in the first stages of trial. I have had to stop it due to receiving chemo for my endometrial cancer. I was on it for a month and it already showed some promise. 

I would suggest research the med as much as you can. Look at what the med is to target and listen to your doctor's opinion. I am blessed that my breast cancer doctor was the one in charge of the study I was in. Also see if the med is used in combination with a known medicine and how well that med works. 

I felt special doing the trials; you are being part of history and breaking into new scientific endevorse.

What do not understand? The disease, or study? I looked up Peripheral Cancer on Google and found a decent site

I'm currently in a clinical

I'm currently in a clinical trial for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer on a medication called Ribociclib together with Femara. My side effects are minimal and this is the last stage of trials. The good part is the medication and all follow up is free. The bad part was that I had to do a CT scan every 3 months.. but it's a way to check if the cancer is advancing or not. The trials will finish end of the year then if I want to use the medication I have to buy it for a astronomical price that I cannot afford long term. Well it's bought me 4 good years with minimal negative effects. If I found the effects too much or if the Dr thought it was not helping me the trials can be stopped. So I think for me it was a good thing to have this opportunity to help and be helped.
