"In this cohort study of 489 patients who had a vitamin D level measured in the year before COVID-19 testing, the relative risk of testing positive for COVID-19 was 1.77 times greater for patients with likely deficient vitamin D status compared with patients with likely sufficient vitamin D status, a difference that was statistically significant."

Old posts also discuss how higher Vitamin D levels may be helpful in avoiding a recurrence of colon cancer.

    Nothing better than being outside!

And soaking up some sun (safely of course!)

    Vitamin D Levels

My levels were low before my diagnosis and always take a supplement now.  I'm confident that these levels have a very important part in our well-being.  It used to be these levels were taken with a blood test, but now are not part of a routine test, and I'm charged extra if it is part of my blood draw.  I'll get it done every two years, since it plays a significant part in colorectal cancer (so I've been told).

    Thank you

For this information.  I live in an area with very little sunshine certain parts of year.  I will be doubly certain to take my vitamin D drops now.  Cool

    vitamin D

My dad is taking supplements already for some time but the cancer symptoms he got even before. In the summer he works in the sunshine without a shirt but still had a deficiency. But I will tell my dad that he should get it checked this year to be sure.

My grandma was suffering for quite some time with osteoporosis. She got better when she started taking vit D. Me makes it more motivated to take mine regularly.
