Has anyone had fluctuations in WBC/platelet count 8 months out?

    Continue to ask your onc about this.  You may even need to seek a second opinion.

    I became severely anemic four years after chemo ended, requiring I.V. iron.  (I had never before been anemic at all.)  The onc checked numerous things, but could never find a cause, and it later returned to normal.  I now have severely low Vit-D, ten years after chemo, no doctor has any idea.

    These fluxations are not uncommon, but demand due diligence from your doctors.

    If only mine were that good!

    3 years out from R-EPOCH for DLBCL, my WBC hovers in the mid-3000, ANC ~2000, and platelets ~150.  I asked my Hem-Onc doc about it at every visit and she says "That's just how it is for some people."  But do check with YOUR doctor with your concerns. Good luck.

    Sorry to hear this, but the problem is rather common and rather enigmatic. Virtually all treatment hammers your marrow, and so blood counts will be all over the map for some time therafter. My counts fluctuate substantially 5 years post-transplant and 12 years into this journey. Some months they are up and others they are down, but they never remain the same. Abnormal is the new normal. DLBCL, you say? Was the Adcetris used as your only therapy?

    Since Adcetris is CD30 specific, and most CD30+ cancers are T-Cell Lymphomas or Leukemias, yours must have had some very unusual factors. I can see why they eliminated the vincristine (Oncovin) from the regimen, as it is well known for neuropathy. But, so is Adcetris. I wonder if you had a composite lymphoma or???
