Long term survivors with recurrent poorly differentiated

First,  for anyone out there reading this, I’m a 35 year, Stage 2 survivor !!

I was 34 in 1985 and had only radiation and partial mastectomy.  Now after enjoying the last 35 years of being cancer free, it has returned. I just got the biopsy report, minus some of the hormonal results and one area is a high grade ductile with necrotic center and the other is invasive ducal poorly deffereniated. I’m no longer a candidate for radiation as they used the higher doses back in the 80’s, so I’ve had my life time dose. Any one else with poorly differentiated with no radiation option?

Long term survivor with new case of cancer in remaining breast

    Hi Ginny,

I am so sorry to hear of the return of your cancer after so many years. I had bc and a full mastectomy in 1987, Stage II b, 2 poitive lymph nodes.  I was 34, also. I was treated with 6 months of chemo and no radiation.  I remained cancer free for 30 years.  In 2018 I had a new case of cancer in my existing  breast.  Stage IIIc with one positive lymph node. I was treated with Chemo before surgery  adramycin/ cytoxin  then taxol.  Had another mastectomy and was treated with 6 months of Xeloda for prevention of recurrence.  Now I have just finished 25 rounds of radiation for prevention, also. It is really hard to accept that you have cancer again after so many years of being cancer free. I hope all goes well for you. I am on chat with many other really nice and understanding people often ,we'd be happy to have you join us. Take care. Hugs! Vickye
