I can only imagine what you went through, but can completely understand how gun shy you must be about any future surgery. There was a recent NY Times article about how anitbiotic resistant UTIs are getting and that probably didn't help your situation at all. It's just getting too dangerous to go into a hospital these days, but what can we do?

Cheesequeen, and picture.   I pray that your recovery from this latest surgery goes well.   I have read your comments for a year, and follow your journey.   I hope you have comfort from all the people here who are cheering for you.

So glad to hear you are finally home...for most of us our sanctuary & safe place.

I had sepsis in 2017 as a result of a UTI. I was too sick to be scared and have only realized over last year how serious and life threatening it is!

I will never have surgery again unless it is absolutely necessary. The fear of infection as a result of surgery is just overwhelming.

Best wishes you can now move on. I had a short term colostomy bag as a result of the damage from sepsis. Thankfully it was able to be taken down. However, I could have lived with it lifelong if necessary. Hopefully you can do the same with your new 'equipment.'

I'm glad you are home but

I'm glad you are home but what an ordeal.I hope all will be well. 

I have debated on surgery vs radioactive iodine for my hyperthyroidism but it looks like it's going into spontaneous remission so it may be a mute point. Your situation reminds me of why it's best to stay away from surgery if possible.

Nothing like sleeping in our own beds after a hospitalization!! Can't imagine what you have gone through with sepsis and looks like acute kidney failure especially if they were thinking dialysis. Yes the pee bag is a nuisance but yay for pee in the bag!!! Hoping the pain and discomfort improves! You are in my thoughts and prayers. xoxo
