So I got through the surgery on Thursday and only had one complications, I had irregular heart beat and went into afib, but they pulled me out of it and I  am good.  Doc beleives the chemo i had for my BC was a contributor to this.  So while I went home with one less kidney, I pick up 2 more meds for life.

I feel good though.  God is good all the time!

Hugs and thanks for the prayers,

Annie

    Thank you

For going through what I have, I am pleasently surprised how good I feel.   I really think if I did not have this new heart issue I would be getting more accomplished.  I feel like I, well no, not I feel, I know I have had a miricle here.  Got that kidney out on Thursday and I dont even need a pain pill!

    Hugs,

    Annie

Annie, we seem to be on

Annie, we seem to be on similar paths.  The scan that found my kidney cancer also found an aortic aneurysm, so I have heart surgery somewhere in my future.  Maybe I'll get lucky and one of my cancers will get me first.

Kidney coming out Tuesday in Fresno

I'm 59 and I'm getting my dissapointing kidney out on tuesday here in Fresno.  I've got a 6cm tumor in it.  I just found about the two cancers on good friday.  they scooped the tumor out of my bladder a month or so ago and now they are taking out the kidney which is also stage one.  No where can I find the 5 year survival rate for someone who had both bladder and kidney cancer both stage one.  I know the bladder cancer will keep coming back and I hope we can continue to scoop them out as we find them.  The statistics show around 80% 5 year survivals but no where can i find the rate if you have both.  I know its just a number but I'd really like to know it.  bernie

    Wow

Bernie, I dont know the survival rates of having both.  I am sure they are out there.  The other day, I met a man that was a 27 year bladder cancer survivor.  That was amazing to me.  We just have to be ever present and keep a close eye on ourselves by never missing an appointment.  Life is too precious so now I take the time to smell the roses.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Annie
