which I am happy about for now, because I know it can all change in an instant. After 2 years of being really sick, 5 years at stage 4 right now my husband is showing NED and all his blood work is normal, except one liver enzyme due to his stent in his liver. The narrowing in his ducts are just narrowing and it looks like the radiation destroyed the tumor he had in his bile duct. He has not had any chemo in his pump since December and even then it was 1/4, at least I think it was it might have been November, no systemic since 2018. He let his hai pump die because it caused him so many problems. Cautiously optimistic..... |

I am so happy for you! And as I love to have hope, was all his cancer removed surgically? I am hoping that chemo can get someone to ned.

Yes
except for a rare spread of a tumor inside his bile duct which was treated with some doses of hai pump chemo and SBRT radiation therapy (14 doses)
i guess technically one was ablated during his second resection
i am am editting this to say when pathology came back on the resected tumors they were 95% necrotic which was an excellent response. If chemo can’t get you to Ned there are lots of other non surgical options like radiation and ablation that can get you there.

i am at the airport right now, and HDM is at home, on my computer. He will arrive late to this very wonderful party.
Dont worry about what ‘may’ show up in the future; celebrate now.
