Posted the other day that I felt some saliva was coming. Well it is happening slowly , post radiation 20 months.I hung in there as many of you advised. Thank you for the inspiration. As long as you are alive there is a chance even if it takes longer than most survivors. I am also getting very small taste and hope more is coming. Feel optimistic like I haven't felt in a long while. Working on constipation and hope new medication called Linzess will be effective.

    Good for you!

Of all the things we take for granted in our normal lives, saliva has got to be very close to the top.  Proper bowel function may be at the top.

I'm not sure about 20 months post being "longer than most survivors".  I know I fooled myself into thinking that I would be right back to to my pre-treatment condition in 6 months, but I found out that my docs were right about it taking quite a while - 18-24 months, even longer.  I've come to accept that fact and now I feel better because of it.  If I feel a little bit better next month than I do this month, then that's a step in the right direction and something to feel good about.

EDIT:  By the way, your topic title sure didn't read like it was going to be a positive story, but I'm glad it was! Smile
