Yes, I have taken Keytruda since June 2016. I had colon Cancer stage 2 in July of 2015 and had 2/3 of my colon taken out. I was doing ok until April of 2016, and then in May I was diagnosed with Stage 4 that had metastisized to my liver. Its a huge tumor, and after being part of a clinical trial for four months the tumor has not changed in size. It is very frustrating and I'm not sure what my next step should be. I sure hope that it works for you!
They just took me off of Keytruda. It attacked my Thryroid and the cancer is growing faster than before...
They had me take a bloodtest checking for mutations in my blood to see if there is a targeted therapy I can take. If not im assuming they will release me to hospice. I will find out the results on thursday.
Keytruda is done for me. DNA test of my blood shows i have at least 10 mutations. They have targeted therapies so were on to the next saga. I dont know what they are going to try on me next. Its a trial so I might need a lung biopsy. The last one I had was years ago and it was painfull as hell. I felt like a pin cushion. The doctor wouldnt give me more pain meds. I seriously feel like didnt give me anything for the pain. I dont look forward to that at all.
I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I'm not familiar with it at all and it's disappointing to hear that something new ( Iassume it's new?) didn't work. You're brave to try something different, rather than the standard therapies. Good luck!
I dont know if its brave or fear of dieing that keeps me trying something else. Sometimes I tell myself im ready to die to keep off everything they throw at me, then I see the grandkids and want to try everything until the end.
My husband is going to start this - He is MSI H and the cancer is now in the Peritoneal Cavity and we have multiple obstructions. Other Chemo is not working - Has this worked for anyone with this advanced type of cancer?
