TCM, Immunotherapy, Exercise, O For 3 For Me - Radiation and Chemo Time

Have not logged in or posted in awhile.  The title is pretty much the situation. Lymph nodes have been relatively stable/growing slowly this whole time.   But in two months between scans the cancer is going crazy.  Lungs had substantial increase in number and size.  There are other suspect locations, including the liver. And there is a tumor in the muscles in my back that has moved into my spine.  Radiation should take care of that one. The good news on that, it explains my back pain and other issues, and it is not because I am getting old and having the aches and pains from the aging process.  Foot in Mouth  (When I stop joking then I am in trouble.)

Then back on chemo to address the other things.

Perhaps sometime down the road the chemo will knock everything out and I will get a break from chemo.

Not looking forward to the chemo again, but went through it before.  And if I have one bad week and one good week, like last time, I can deal with it even if not exactly how I plan my calendar.  Just makes me enjoy the good weeks more and less guilty about being a little bit self-indulgent doing things I like to do if I feel like it.

I'm sorry to hear your news. Any idea which chemo they'll put you on?

    FOLFORI

Seems to be the cocktail of choice for this go round with chemo.  The OX of FOLFOX had to be dropped at the end when I danced this dance before.  Cannot believe it is a little over three years ago since that ended.  But it has never left with the lung surgery a year later.  The one year of clean scans was cool.  But, well we all know how this ebbs and flows.

I'm happy that you posted, friend

Not happy with the news, of course.

Will be following you closely, as always.  Wishing you nothing but the best.

Sorry you had to be on it again

I'm also back on it and looking forward to the last 3 rounds.  I heard Folfiri is the current "in" among oncologists so I hope it knocks down those nodules.  Hoping for mild side effects on you this time.  Let's do this!

Sorry about the news. Mine is growing rapisly as well. Just sucks. I can't imagine starting up Folfiri again right now. But you sound strong and ready for this. Hoping you have fewer bad days this time.

    Bummer

Glad to see you posting again but sorry to hear of your new continuing growth and treatment.  Your sense of humor will definitely help you get through this but it still stinks.  Hoping that the new treatment will knock it out for good.

I want to hear good news from your CEA issues.  That will bring a smile to my face.

I did the FOLFOX routine in 2015 as my first round of chemo.  Ox had to be dropped at the end.  FOLFORI is the next one up for me.  Due to my mutations, some other options are off the table.  3 more rounds - you got this.  Glad to see you are almost done and hoping for beautiful clear scans for you ...

Stay strong.  This sucks for sure, I was blown away by the growth.  I had a copy of the scan when I walked out and days before I saw the official report.  I thought for sure I have made a mistake reading it (not that I am good at it) when looking at the lungs.  I was saying "This is crazy, I am seeing cancer here, here, here, here, etc ...I have to be wrong."  It wasn't.

But as many have done here (seems to be a theme) we dust ourselves off and get back into dealing with this.  Attitude helps a ton.  Most people still do not believe I have cancer.  (Been telling more people)  It seems many of the people I meet (or here on the board) are fighters and positive.   Not to say there are not times where I am cursing, upset or scared - there are these one or two minutes that come and go with triggers - but really limited.  And being positive goes a long way in all of this.

    Thanks AB

I am going to keep on laughing.  Even get the docs and staff laughing.  :)

My attitude is the radiation will clear up the spine, the chemo will knock out the rest.  And in a year there will be more breakthroughs to look at for treatment then
