So My CT Scan

says the left mass is unchanged BUT says I have 'Anteriorly within the midpole of the right kidney, there is an enhancing renal mass measuring 1.4 cm." That's the kidney I JUST had surgery on! The report didn't say "complex" or "solid" so I'm not sure if there is another cancer they missed? Any thoughts?

Forgive me as I'm sure the answer to my question is posted somewhere; What type of RCC was your cancer?

    Thanks,

Is that near the area where the surgery was?  My husband had something like that (and so did several others that I have read about) and it was just scar tissue.  Maybe even a small cyst.  Please let us know what you find out.

The surgery was posterolaterally in the middle pole. I won't find out what the doctor says until next Wednesday afternoon.

    Seems unusual

Thanks, Nana.  I understand RCC is rare, but bifocal RCC is even more rare.  On top of that I find it strange that this new spot didn't show up on your pre-surgery scans or the ultra sound during surgery.  Are you being cared for by an RCC specialist?  I hope you get some answers.  I hope you get some answers from your doctors.

    Take care,

    Stub...I went back through

ALL of my tests since May 2017...1 Ultrasound, 2 CT's and 1 MRI and all state that 1.4 cm spot a simple cyst. THIS doctor said it was enhancing and compared it to all previous tests. I have a Urologist and my Urology Surgeon specializes in RCC. I know that I have had pain off and on in my right kidney since my surgery 16 weeks ago, but that was to be expected since he had to cut deep and I had 4 layers of stitches, but my pain has gotten progressively worse over the past month or so. It is pretty much 24/7 now, level 4 on the 10 scale and very concerning. *sigh* I don't know what to think. This CT report is strange and not like the others, but he has a CD of the images so hopefully he can figure it out. Pretty sure it will be a 'watch and wait' on the cancer in the left kidney.  I just pray for the best and it's already been a long wait until Wednesday. Frown

Thank you and Sandy for your thoughts.
