Thank you all for the support

Thank you all for the support! I have another bit of good news. I can eat chili! I've been avoiding beans because they're a no-no on the low residue diet but I started thinking that the wskins are pretty much dessicated in the cooking process of mkaing chili. So I made some a few days ago and have been eating it a few times and have had no blockage. Yay! I was actually at one point standing there stirring the chili and asking out loud 'are you going to put me in the hospital?' Now if I could just eat corn on the cob this summer but I can't.

    Hugs,

    I’ve avoided Chili with beans..

I’ve avoided Chili with beans, worried about flatulence filling my bag with gas.

I love Chili, my wife has been making it without beans and it’s very good. I used to enter Chili Cookoffs and no beans allowed.

I’m glad you’re back to it. I’m seeing a pain doctor on Tuesday, the pain in my butt has been limiting the time I can spend in a car.

Good Luck with your time off.

Isn't it terrible that you have to think about what you eat if it will send you to the hospital.  I'm glad you are enjoying your chili.  The more you chew the more it breaks down.  Yes, corn on the cob would be hard to not eat, along with my popcorn.  Enjoy the chili.

Oh Kim, I LOVE popcorn. It's been so hard giving it up. It's always been my 'go to' snack and has been a meal many times.

    Popcorn

If you get the popcorn puffs that seems to satisfy the craving for it.  It's not the same but helped me.  I'm not sure if it is popcorn without the kernels but it's pretty good stuff too.

No one deserves good news more than you!

So happy to hear your feeling better too.

    May it always be so.

I think you’re NED.  Nice, Exceptional, and Dear!

Thanks yout two! I like the NED designation, too! My husband might disagree, he thinks I'm pretty salty. Just yesteerday he was lamenting me feeling better. I'd said something about him not doing some of the things we need done around the house while doing things we don't need. He said "yeah, I can sure tell you're feeling better." Okay buddy, making picture frames for blank canvases that you're then going to bug me to paint to replace the pictures we already have in the living room doesn't seem as important as doing little repairs we need done.

I cartainly hope so Jim! This

I cartainly hope so Jim! This cancer thing is such a roller coaster. I had no idea before I got it and learned so much. I thought you got the diagnosis, you got chemo and then you lived or died. I had no idea how varied at was for each person with the exact same cancer. It's so confusing and no guarantees on anything.

    Great News

Great news on the report. I know a NED would be fantastic but hey, we take what we can get right? Just another example of answered prayers if not always in the way we think they should be answered.

    Thank you! It's so

Thank you! It's so emotionally positive for me as well as physical. When I'm not in treatment I feel like I'm not a person with tumours in my lung, I'm just like everyone else. Last night I spent about twenty minutes catching my daughter's horse after walking way out in the field to get him. He's kind of a weiner that way and doesn't run off but will walk away when you go to put his halter on. Finally he stooped and let me and then I had to walk all the way back. But I wasn't tired after!!!! That's whats so amazing to me. I am so grateful for every day or even hour that I'm not fatigued and have no pain or nausea. Every time I'm able to do something I quietly say a quick thank you to the man upstairs.

On the one hand I dislike being so grateful for being able to do the things other people can because nobody else has to feel like that. On the other hand I have so many things to be grateful for every day and I like the position it puts me in on an emotional level. It feels good to be so happy and appreciative of small things.
