in Colorectal Cancer #1

I wonder anybody heard about new cancer vaccine that found in Israeli. It is on youtube I watched yesterday. It looks like it worked on o 7 patients. I appreciate if anybody put some more feedback about it to share. I don’t know about reliablity of that vaccine. Thanks for feedback.

    No I have not had it yet. I want to search more about reliability from someone who had it before. The vaccinein they found in Cuba only for Lung cancer and it is not cureing.

    Colon cancer

    I think yes it will work for about 90% of cancer types including colon. I have satage IV inoperable colon cancer. I hope it may work for all of us Jan. Only thing we need detailed information from other people or articles may come up soon. I will post if I get any information about it. It looks like they did on 7 people so far and it worked. I am excited.

    Hi Abita,

    is it cureing the cancer cells? Have you had it or talked to someone who had it? If you know more information would you share with us.

    I just noticed from internet,  the vaccine in Stanford is pre-clinical study they have not tried on people yet.

    I think its tiem we all give a little thought to the Mice and other animals that are used in studies. I know this may upset some animal actavist, but at the end of the day, we have allot to thank their little lives for; especailly knowing they do not choose their path.

    I've not heard anything about it.  If it was in Israel usually the US would have to do major studies on it before the FDA even approved it.  It sure would be wonderful if someone did come up with just a vaccine to prevent this terrible disease.

    This one looks promising. It is going to human trials soon. I hate that we test on animals. Anyway, it is so much a vaccine as it kills existing cancer. The gist is that they inject it into a tumor. Then it develops a cancer killing way about it from that tumor. And then it seeks out that type of cancer in the rest of the body and kills that too. If you have two types, it would only kill the one that it was injected into. There are a lot of stories about it as I am not a scientist better to read on own. But this is what I use to calm my nerves when I worry about a recurrence down the road.     I get the same thing from that as you. Looks like they inject two things into a tumor, which bind to, and activate T cells that are already in the tumor. By doing this, they identify the specific protein of that tumor as a target for your immune system, and your immune system then attacks any instance of that protein it can find anywhere in your body. Normally cancer cells have methods to hide from your immune system, so this makes them visible, and actively makes them a target.

    The protein from one type of cancer is different from another, so that is why it only works on one type at a time. I don't see anything in there that would indicate that they couldn't then go ahead and inject it into a second type of tumor to target it if they needed to, or others as well.

    This has a lot of potential I think.

    Vaccine in Cuba

    Thank you for posting the article Jan. I read it and I believe the vaccine in Cuba is good only for Lung cancer patients but still I didi not know anybody went to remission with that.

    Sounds great too. Most of the tumors were gone in the mice on the first shot. The others had to take a second shot. My fear is that they said it is a realitlivley inexpensive method. Big Pharma won't be too happy. But I will leave belives for another site ;-).

    Yes, the article is related

    Yes, the article is related to lung cancer only. My sister didn't understand that even though the cancer is in my lung now it's still colon cancer. 

    The chemo I'm currently on is an immunotherapy so I assume it works the same or similarly to this.

    Although colon cancer patient may have mets in Lungs, but still the primary cancer is Colon cancer therefore vaccine in Cuba may not going to work. Primary cancer should be in Lungs in order to be efeective, that’s what I read about it in the past.

    Is this the immune Therapy that you have to have the special gene that your taking? How are the side effects?

    My onc had my tumour tested

    My onc had my tumour tested and it is vulnerable to this chemo. I don't know if it's gene related, that's all I know. Does everyone have their tumours kept somewhere for things like this? This is the protocal here where I live. They're all kept in the basement of a former hospital. Maybe a patient can be tested without using the tumour? I don't know.

    The main side effect is a rash. The chemo seeks out a chemical in the mets and tells the body to attack it. The same chemical is in the skin of the upper torso. I had my first chemo just over a week ago and the rash started two days ago. It looks like pimples and red bumps but they're not really pimples. It gets quite unsightly once it's fully set in and I hate going out in public with it. It disappears a few weeks after chemo ends and I've had no scarring.
