Surgical Biopsy tomorrow

I've been a little lax here lately. Work has been extra stressful, and by the end of the day, I just haven't had the energy to read and respond. And now I'm back in the thick of "adventures in diagnostics."  After three inconclusive, minimally invasive attempts to identify my lung nodules, tomorrow I go in to have a couple of them wedged out for biopsy. I'm a little nervous, but mostly just want to get this over with, and find out once and for all if we're dealing with mets. 2017 was a crazy year. I'm really hoping this one starts on a better note.

    Thanks for the support

Procedure went well - great doctor and team. The chest tube is giving me some pain, but they're giving me good drugs, which are making it difficult to focus and type. Hoping to go home tomorrow. Probably won't get the pathology results until  next week. I think I need to close my eyes now, at least for a little while.

    Chest tubes suck.......

Its going to scare the crap out of you when they pull the tube out, but believe it or not its not going to hurt, and you will get instant relief from the tube pain your now experiencing. I had a lady DR pull the tube the last time I had left lung wedge resections, she actually got up on a stool stood over the hospital bed and yanked the tube out, its like 3-4 feet long, and when they pull it out they do it super fast and it pops up like a giant rubber band toward the ceiling. Its all gravy after the tube comes out, good luck.

    OMG it was huge!

I've had a chest tube before, but this was bigger and more painful. It looked like aquarium tubing! And yes, it felt amazing to get it out.

Thanks, I wish it were easy

For some reason, I'm having a hard time focusing at work and getting back into it fully. This was a problem before my procedure too. Maybe it will be better when I get my results, but I'm starting to think it's part of a larger issue. Either way, I need to find a way to deal with this and push through. Thanks for the support!

    My tumour was found last

My tumour was found last August and I had surgery 2 mths ago. I still have a very difficult time focusing. I have the attention span of a flea at this point lol. All of this is a lot for a person to go through.

I guess it can be a lot, on

I guess it can be a lot, on anyone; thank you for the perspective. It's not even a full year since my January 26 diagnosis and January 27 radical nephrectomy. And I'm naturally hard on myself, so maybe I'm not functionally appreciating the full breadth of this past year and what I've been through.

Almost 2 weeks since the surgical wedge biopsy procedure

And I'm still awaiting pathology. It was a similar wait on my original nephrectomy sample, as the hospital where I had it done had to send it to the Cleveland Clinic to get it figured out. I just messaged one of my surgeon's nurses, but I don't expect that to expedite anything. Anyone else have to wait this long for results?
