    I made it!!

I had surgery about 14 hours ago . It went very well. Only had to take 20% of my kidney and that was amazing news. I'm in quite a bit of pain, but that's expected. Overall though I feel wonderful knowing  the cancer is out. Thanks to everyone who prayed and wished me well.

    Congratulation!  I remember

Congratulation!  I remember the sigh of relief I breathed after I woke up and they told me they got it all, even though mine was very small.  If they've provided you with a spyrometer, use it.  If they ask you to walk, walk.  Both of those will help a lot to hasten your recovery.

    Keep up

with the pain meds.  In the hospital they do a great job of making sure you are on schedule.  When you get home stay on top of it.  Remember....walk, walk, walk.

    It's out!

    I am happy for you!!!

Hang in there, the next few days are going to be rough but you will get through it.  Don't let your pain get out of control.  Pain is a lot like fire, if you get on it sooner rather than later it's easier to control.

    Keep us posted.

    YEAAAAYY AMBAVA!!! You made

YEAAAAYY AMBAVA!!! You made it over the HUMP and now on your way to full recovery!

I wonder if you are under more pain due to that awful GAS. Ask for ice packs to put over your incisional area. It reduces the swelling which in turn reduces the pain. However, that GAS pain is a bummer as it needs to find a way out!

Keep us informed hon. We're here for ya!

    healing hugs, Jan

    Yeeesssss!!! So glad for you.

Yeeesssss!!! So glad for you. Now it's time to step back, take a deep breath and get well. As others have said, stay on top of the pain meds and get to steppin'.....walk,walk,walk.

Given our experience every day get a little better but the real turning point seemed to be about day 10. My wife slept a lot the first week but heavens knows you guys need it. Listen to your body, it will let you know when it's time to slow down.

so glad for you and your family.

    Big hugs.

Such a relief once it's over.

Such a relief once it's over. Take it slow, and use the meds to ease the pain. Try to walk as much as possible; it helps the healing. Make sure you use the breathing apparatus they give you. I used it every hour.

    Day 3 after surgery

Hi all! So I am on day 3 after my surgery and surprisingly I am not feeling bad at all. I still have some gas trapped up near my shoulders and it can hurt but I have been walking a lot. I am not over doing it but I know it is only going to help me recover faster and get this gas out of me. I think the gas trapped inside me is my biggest complaint. I am on tylenol and ibuprofen and I have only had one dose of ibuprofen so far today and I am feeling really good. I mean for serious surgery and only 3 days ago, I cannot complain one bit. My husband is a saint and has really been holding down the fort with our twins and my mom and inlaws will be here tonight so it's just really been a blessing all around. Never thought I would feel that this was a blessing but truly it was. I could of ignored my symptoms and let this thing grow, but I listened and for that I am grateful. Thank you all for your kind words, it truly helped me get thru all this.
