8 years NED (Stage IV)

On February 20th I celebrated my 8th Anniversary of remission.  In 2009 I had 12 inches of my colon removed along with half of my liver (5 liver mets spread across the liver).  I had an HAI pump implanted and continued chemo treatments until November 2009.  I have had no treatments since then and my quarterly scans slowed down to half-year scans to now, yearly scans.

I feel amazingly blessed to have a genius doctor and amazing surgeons (hepatobiliary and colo-rectal) at Memorial-Sloan Kettering.  Each day that I spend with my husband and children is a true gift and I respect each of those days with honor and gratitude.  If you had told me years ago, while I was in the thick of treatments, that one day I would see my doctor once per year and not think of cancer on a daily basis, I would have called you crazy.  And yet, here I am....

Love and prayers for you all,

Amy

PS  Please PM me if I can be of any assistance to you.  I live in NJ.
