just a quick post to say that I am still here, reading but not posting for a long time. Husband still doing well.

    I have been reading all of

    I have been reading all of the posts from the old timers and newbies; it's the first thing I check in the mornings. My husband continues to get MRIs and CTs; so far, he has received radiation when something pops up on him s spine. He had a partial adrenalectomy last summer to his left gland.

    every time he gets scanned is just as anxiety-provoking as the earlier ones but we hang in. We got a new grandchild last October so now we have 4 total. We took our youngest son and his family to Hawaii last month and had a blast.

    i am working and commuting; will be posting more regularly again.

    Glad to hear things are going well. Super that you were able to go to Hawaii. What a great place to relax with family.

    Thank you for posting. I am glad you are still reading, feeling connected, but we miss you. So happy to hear that your husband is doing well. And a new grandchild!! How wonderful! It is fabulous that you are still enjoying your trips to Hawaii.

    Husband still doing well

    Thank you for posting that your husband is still doing well.It always gives me a ray of hope for my dear hubby who had a metatasis to his spinal column that will radiated soon. I am hoping they can get him on Sutent to stop or slow down the spread. He was cancer free for about eight and a half years after his cancerous kidney was removed -and this met just occurrred and was found recently.

    I always could count on your solid clinical comprehension. When I've been at my worst, you reinforced my committment to my plan of action. It's nice to know you are still around. Say hello to your husband. Tell him I said he's in good hands. FLY.

    when I first came here, my husband was going through a lot of physical stuff after his initial treatment, your posts kept me going and I would pass them on to him to encourage him to return to being active.

    your IL experiences and recovery from them were inspirin.

    after the shock and yes, reading stats from the internet, your posts belied those terrible expiration dates.

    if your husband was NED for 8 years and now has a spinal met, are you considering SBRT? Sutent is not effective on bone mets according to our oncologist and he has responded well to radiation. We are hoping to avoid any meds as long as possible and hoping that a newer and better med will appear if he should ever need it.

    just a though. Glad to meet you; where are you located? We are in the SF Bay Area

    Gratitude for your update

    Reading your post about your hubby doing well is very uplifting at this time as he recently found a metatasis to the spine (after nothing for about 7 years after his neprectomy ). First I was so shaken I almost fainted. Three weeks later I am dealing with it better in an effort to be supportive to him as he and our son were getting worried about me (I never even thought about that). At any rate, he is getting his last two tests tomorrow-a PET scan and more MRIs. The oncology neurosurgeon is planning to radiate the two spots that eroded parts of the bone and he hopes that will knock them down in size or out altogether. He also mentioned that it is possible he will have to do back surgery to keep his spinal column stable due to those mets. I let me mind get away from me tonight and started projecting alot of negative scenarios. When Bob(my hubby got home) I snapped back into supportive mode. I am a professional myself but to help him through this i have put my work on hold 95% of the time. As everyone here knows, it is a major job to keep up with appointments, testing, more appointments and more testing. At least I can do that for him. No one knows what tomorrow will bring so living in the moment is the only thing that I can do. Thanks for listening and for posting and caring. And I am so glad about your hubby-love truly can be a curative force.
