Well, it's not good, but not horrible...

The cancer did not respond to initial therapy.  I'm going to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas for a clinical trial.  The doctor said I'm a prime candidate and only sends 10 people a year there for treatment.  If that doesn't work he said there are a TON of options.  He was very positive, but with the caveat that I will likely be on some form of treatment for the duration of my life.  So please pray that they find something that will get rid of this beast forever.  I have a 12-year-old son with autism and a 10-year-old.

I am so sorry to hear that the cancer did not respond

Jodi, I am so sorry to hear that the cancer did not respond to the initial therapy. Please trust what your doctor says about being positive about the many treatment options that are open to you. I read so much now about cancer starting to be treated as if it is a chronic condition like diabetes that there really is hope to live a long, full life, even if you don't get rid of it completely. Wishing you strength and peace for your continuing journey, Kim

    Prayers

Jodi, I am sorry I wish the results had been totally clear.  One thing I have learned, doctors are morbidly honest and lean towards worse case scenarios when discussing your future and future treatment options.  You should read a lot of positive by your doc thinking there are so many ways to deal with this.  And you can live with cancer, it becomes more of a chronic disease like diabetes etc. Not fun but you have your life and family, pretty neat I would say.  You now know there is a battle brewing but you are fit and on the whole, healthy.  Lots and lots in your favor.  AND you have all of us saying prayers and willing you to be better. God bless you.
