    Good to see you Brooks!

Funny, something compelled me to pop in here this morning, and I saw your post. I can chime in to say I'm still on this earth after 15 years since my Stage III mets to lymph dx, but I'm no longer on this site and have not been for about 5 years. As an "old-timer" I wanted to encourage others who are newer to this cancer gig, so I posted. Back in the day in 2001 when I began posting and seeking out cancer comaraderie, it was just Ron50 and me! These boards were a lifesaver back then because no one I knew was going through what I was. I was only in my 30s when I was diagnosed! Amongst the tears and fears on here, there was also a lot of laughs and love.

Best wishes to all and for you Americans on here, have a safe and happy 4th!

    peace, emily

    Stage 4 2007

Something must have promted us old timers to check in!! My prompting unfortunately was a co-worker/friend being diagnosed last week.

I am glad to see Ron/Em/ Phil/ Mags/Chip all posted. You all were my encouragement when I came to the board in 2007. I am grateful to say that I have been NED since 2008. Stage 4 with mets to the ovaries. Stay encouraged... there are oldtimers!!!

    still around

hi All, I'm still around also. Great to see many familiar names. I'm not on often, I have moved to be closer to my sick daughter, she has Trigiminial Neuralgia a very painful neurological decease. I still have some cancer related problems, but so do we all.

So happy to see you all, marjan

    Hey Brooks!!!

Would have responded earlier but needed to see CEA results at lung doc last week as prior CEA at onc in April was highest its ever been since Tx.(A few days before i saw onc  i found out from skin doc that i had shingles;there's really no research on impact of shingles on CEA except a posting on Colon Club site-which i don't as a rule go to. As shingles is a type of inflammation, that's why i thought CEA had gone up....Back in Sept had false scare from CT that was cleared up in a Dec followup scan but time between was nervewracking)

Remember "the good old days" of oxi? You were about a month or so ahead of me;Clift was about a year ahead of us. We could log on here at four in the morning because we couldn't sleep and there'd be others to join in,a whole bunch of us!!

Still painting rocks?......(Painting rocks? What are these idiots talking about?)

See onc and radiologist every six months; assume i'll get another CT this year. My lung doc takes CEA for me between onc visits. Main problems now are prostate, back pain, poor sleep. Try to eat "healthy",exercise-recently hurt right forearm -still reading CRC research (whether i understand it or not, plus my retention sucks-chemo brain still in effect);neuro not that bad-probably cos i got used to it and walk with a cane Without help from girlfriend,i wouldn't be here

Hope all's well with you, your wife and kids,

    Still here too

Nice to see some familiar names on here! Brings back memories of lots of smiles, knowledge, joy, and sorrow shared on this site. 12 years for me now (stage IV), dxed in 2004. Ironically I started canning stuff back when I was in the fight 1) to keep me busy and not thinking about cancer and 2) to preserve fresh produce that could be enjoyed all year around knowing exactly where it came from and what was in it. July and August are my busiest time for it too. Came on here for the first time in a long time today as I take a break from the canner. Thanks for the warmth everyone, enjoy your summer.
