Lung Nobule

in Lung Cancer #1

I was given a high resolution CT chest scan and the finding was a lung Nobule greater than 8 mm. Is this something I should be worried about or just wait it out for a few month and retest ..?

    Welcome to the survivor boards!

    At 8mm the nodule is very small and a biopsy is likely to give a false negative because its so hard to hIt.  80% of nodules are related to allergies, illness, exposure to home or industrial chemical fumes and clear up on their own or (at least) never get any larger.  Standard of care is to wait 3 months then rescan with CT.  If no changes they will still follow it for a few years.
