I have noticed that I am out of breath to the point where breating is very heavy and I cough up tones of mucous and have a runy nose.

I sleep way more tha usual and tire very easily. I may be forced to quit my job beacuse I get out of breath really fast!

    lobectomy

    Hey Irishdude,

Are you still smoking after lobectomy? That would be suicide if you are. I really hope you aren't.

I had my right lung removed and get short of breath easily too. That may be part of it, but I know it may get somewhat better if I get moving!

    Talk to your doctor.

Take a leave of absence or

Take a leave of absence or FMLA leave.  If you are done with treatment request a pulmonary function test to establish a new baseline.  The goal of that would be to qualify for pulmonary rehab which will teach you how to breathe more effectively and strengthen the muscles that support breathing.
