Hi Gals!

Just checking in to let you know I'm healing nicely. I made it up and down the steps yesterday and had dinner at my kitchen table. Everything seems to be moving nicely (if you know what I mean) and spotting is minimal. Pain really just from the incision and I might be able to just go with Tylenol today. 

Only problem I'm still having is giving those darned injections. My home health nurse is coming again today so maybe she can help me correct my technique so they don't hurt. When I did it when she was here, it didn't hurt. Go figure. 

I'm going to ask my doc today if it might be okay for me to take a 3 hour car ride tomorrow down to our condo at the beach. Might be a nice change of scenery. For those of you who had abdominal surgery, not just DaVinci, what do you think about this?

Long ride

i road for 3 hours home from the surgery and in two weeks back and forth for those 3 hours for my checkup. And I did fine.   Glad you are healing quickly.  Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

Recovery from surgery is going great. Hard to believe they opened up my belly a mere 11 days ago!  I'm enjoying being at the beach and will be picking up my new recliner on the way home. That's the good news. 

My gyn/onc just called and said lymph nodes were positive. I didn't bother to ask her which ones, all of them were suspicious (by all I mean the ones up in the aortic area too ). I also didn't ask her specifically about the path report. I made a commitment to not look at it online until I meet with her on Wednesday. She has also set me up to meet with a medical oncologist right after I meet with her.  I will look at the path report online on Wed AM before my appointment. No need to lose sleep over stuff now. Let's hope for a good path report and if not, the strength to play the hand I'm dealt with all the skill possible.

Well, da~n, I am rooting for you, Cheese, and hoping for the

best! I remember all too clearly my experience when I returned to the gyn/onc's office to get the results of my pathology report ( on 11/07/13).  Everything I experienced happened in slow motion. After waiting over an hour to see the nurse practitioner, I told my partner that this "delay" did not bode well for me. Finally, she came into the room and sat down in a wheeled stool and rolled it close right into my personal space. My head was exploding with "Oh, no, oh no, oh, no bad news is coming!! Then she showed me a picture of the anatomy of the female reproductive system and I am screaming silently. I KNEW that the news would not be in my favor. She does her spiel telling me that I had stage 3a UPSC. After hearing this horrific, Earth-shattering news, I can remember saying out loud OMG, this is VERY bad news!

But you know what, Cheese? I never expected to survive almost 2.5 years after my hysterectomy and yet I have greeted another year that I never believed I would see. Always, always have hope even in your darkest hours! Strangely, I am no longer as terrified of what may happen to me. I seem to have reach a higher plain and am much more accepting of my eventual demise. After all, none of us will get out of this life experience alive. 

I am there in your corner on Wednesday when you learn more about your diagnosis, Cheese. Regardless of what you hear, believe that you can "do this"; this cancer treatment.

 I'm glad that your recovery from surgery is going well. Soak up that sun.

Wednesday is soon enough to deal with the other stuff.   And I'm pulling for you on Wednesday, too.

We're here for you, CQ!!!  I agree, why worry about something that is over and done?  Once you find out on Wednesday exactly what you have, you can work out your battle plan.  Are you taking somebody with you on Wednesday?  I went alone thinking my oncologist would just reaffirm what my biopsy had shown - Stage I, Grade 1.  I wish now, I had brought somebody with me to take notes because I guess I was kind of in shock.  At least you're going in there prepared.

so happy you are healing.  I am jealous of the beach, would love to be sitting there in the sunshine.  I am glad you are not wasting precious time worrying about what may be.  You will have plenty of time to do that as time goes by.  You are strong and will amaze yourself with how strong you are going to be through this.  Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann
