    Not sure my Tude will ever include going out in public bald. LOL... I do like my bangs with the scarves. As you know, wigs are out for me!

    I have found using eye liner and brow liner helps me feel like I have some definition to my face.  I tried to wear the false eye lashes and eye brows but they are not for me. Looks and feels heavy on my face. Initially, I thought I would be able to wear them.  We learn what works best by trial and error I guess.

    I think if I end up with limited (or no) eyebrows and lashes, I'll get the permanent liners for both. My PA at the cancer center got her eyes lined and loves it. She said it hurts though - maybe some numbing stuff will help?!

    Jamaican Black Castor Oil

    Has anyone tried Jamaican Black Castor Oil for hair growth?  The massage therapist at hospital recommend I start applying it at bedtime on my head and eyebrows after I complete my final chemo treatmen; I've got one more to go.  It needs to be 100% cold processed and can be purchased at health food or Sally's Beauty.  Regular castor oil was recommended for lashes.  I have not done any research yet.

    My hairloss is specific to Taxotere that I had for breast cancer.  I think most of you receive Taxol.  Not the case with Taxol (which I could have had but was not presented with that option).  I don't think you have a thing to worry about with Taxol.  You've been pretty sick with lots of other things going on.  Maybe you're just a "slow responder".  Good luck.

    Cindi once you have done it out loud, fear is drowned out.

    I too hate wigs and all head coverings for that matter. I wear my hair almost bald  on back and side leaving a little length on top where I often display my tude, sometimes carrot top, navyblue, mahogany red ,any color my tude adopts for the month or two.sometimes from my friends I get a thumb up, thumbs up ,a wide smile , laughter followed by shaking of the head and big ole eyes rolling then sometimes they just look with that she's back to life, God help us look.

    Life is just a one time thing. Do it in many ways.

    Yes Cindi it's amazing the  many ways out there to enhance appearance, That's great you already have a plan B.  you won't need it though.

    I too was treated with Taxotere for UPSC.  I see there is a class action suit against the company that makes it.

    The wound went from 7 to 5

    The wound went from 7 to 5 (in whatever measurement they do) so that was good although they thought there was a little tunnel under the healed part.  They packed the wound and the tunnel (that hurt) and showed me how to do it.  They don't want the skin to close if it's still open underneath.  If the tunnel is still there next week they're going to give me a collagen injection (sounds painful, but maybe not?).  All-in-all, I see progress so I am hopeful that after three months, this thing WILL heal!!

    I looked it up

    on Amazon, and it has a lot of positive reviews there.  Not extravagantly priced, either.

    That's good news that the wound is starting to close

    I'm kind of knowledgeable about wound care because my husband had several through the years he was a paraplegic.  If that was the measurement in only a weeks time, that sounds good.  Yes, they want it to heal from the inside out w/o tunneling, but it seems to be turning towards the good.  I am really sorry your oncologist didn't act on this sooner.  What was he thinking?  Rest and enjoy your freedom from chemo, I have 3 more to go and I'm hating the thought of THREE MORE TO GO!  Also, I just got my order from etsy about the pre-tied scarves.  I ordered 2 from 2 different sellers and they are both beautiful.   Maybe you would like to look at those until your hair starts to grow out.  Hugs Nancy

    Progress finally!

    Wow, after three months you must be ecstatic that there is some sort of improvement.  Here's hoping that tunnel disappears by next week and you don't have to go through another procedure.

    Indeed there is

    It's all about failure to inform, basically.  I'm hoping you're just a slow responder, Eldri, they kept saying that to me, but it's been 5 years now . . .   It is really too soon to tell with you.   If in a reasonable amount of time (6 months or so) you don't see improvment, PM me.   The FDA has already been involved in this battle with Sanofi and have now required that they list this possibility in their patient information.  Finally, someone is listening to us!
