So tired!

I had chemo on Tuesday, Neulasta on Wednesday and I am so tired today I can barely move.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better!  Haven't had much bone pain but I was taking Claritin and have my Oxycodon if I need it.  No appetite but I see a nutritionist the week after next to see if we can come up with a low cholesterol, low salt, low fat, lactose free diet that gives me enough calories to maintain my weight.  So far I'm down 23# but I continue to drink, drink and drink some more.

Hopefully I will get more energy and be able to answer some of your posts.

Take care,

Eldri (falling asleep as I type)

Does your skin look really pale and pasty?  Are you short of breath while walking?  You may need a blood transfusion for chemo-induced anemia.  That's what I had.  You should probably give your oncologist a call.

    Hope you're feeling better today

Have you tried any lactose free protein shakes or protein powders in smoothies?  These might help if you have no appetite for solid food and could be a stop-gap measure until you see the nutritionist.  These helped me after I lost weight from my surgery and hospital stay for gastritis.

LOL, actually, Pinky, I look great!

I had sent some pictures to my sister and she said chemo must agree with you, you look 20 years younger.  I don't know why, but my skin looks great - clear, less wrinkles, healthy color....it's crazy!  I'm not short of breath, just feel like I close my eyes and take a nap every ten minutes.....which is exactly what I'm doing.  I have diarhhea again, just like the first time but it's not as bad since I didn't take any Miralax this time.  I'm eating salty Campbells chicken noodle soup as they recommended and I'm not as shaky as I was before.

Hopefully by Monday I'll have my energy back and can get my house cleaned!!  The dust bunnies are threatening to take over!!  LOL

    Take care,

    I'll have to try that

I'll have to try that.  My taste buds are not tasting things right.  I had an orange and it tasted very strange but yet, a few grapes tasted good.  I keep eating my salmon too to build that WBC up.  It seems to be working too.

    Eldri,

My second chemo was the hardest for me from a fatigue perspective.  I could barely put one foot in front of the other.

I still have a lot of fatigue with each transfusion. But, not as bad as that second one.

It will pass. But you may not get to a feeling normal level for a few days yet. And, you may be tired for about a week or so.

At least that has been my experience.  I am 16 days out from chemo #4 and feel pretty good now.

I hope you feel better soon!

BTW, welcome to the chemo taste buds! Some things you normally love may not taste good.  I just experienced a new awful with this one.... Walnuts are now off my eat list. lol

    Love and Hugs,

    Cindi

    Ditto

I am always the most fatigued on day 4 after chemo It usually lasts a few days and then slowly starts to ,get better.  This is day 10 and i have a little more energy.  I actually made it through Walmart and didn't have to sit down and rest.  I know that I have moderate amnemia that doesn't help the tiredness..  I feel like I am on a roller-coaster ride.

My taste buds seem to be on the same roller-coaster  At 1st I don't have a taste for anything.  My taste comes back right before it is time for the next chemo.  I have been trying fruit smoothies with protein powder.  Some times I can drink them and sometimes not.  I want to try freezing some smoothies into popcycles, but you have to have energy to do that.

    Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann
