Pain in groin/node

I have a small 1.3 tumor on my right kidney that my last scan showed has started to grow.  i meet this week with my surgeon to schedule surgery to have it removed.  For the past couple of weeks I have had a low grade fever off and on and have had pain in my right groin area.  Has anyone else had painful nodes in your groin area related to your kidney cancer?

    Been there...done that

I have perennially swolen lymph nodes in my groin.  But, according to my oncologist, it is extremely unlikely to have mets to lypmph nodes in the Groin (at least at first).  The thing to remember is the lymph nodes are bart of our immune system.  They swell up when we are fighting infections. As someone with stage iv, I am told they will not do anything until the node is 1.5 cm;  there are lots of things that can cause a node to swell to 1 cm, but at 1.5, it becomes a concern.

With me, they are watching a 1.2 cm heptic lymph node; I am stage IV (solitary met to my lung, treated with surgery), and with the one node, they still consider me NED.  Hopefully it will be 1.2 cm or less in 2 1/2 weeks when I get my next scan.
