Does this count?

I just got the results of my first CT scan post liver resection that happened 5 weeks ago.  Sigmoid colon resection was in January.  No evidence of disease and my CEA is 1.1.  I started crying when I read it.   But I have 7 more chemo rounds to go (folfoxiri) to get  to 12 rounds.  Is it too soon to be hopeful? NED is such a powerful word for us.

Thanks,

Andrea

    Its never too soon

If you go through treatment feeling positive, it can only be a plus.

So happy to hear that the CT scan is good and the CEA so low.  Look at the following treatments as covering your tracks. Soon you will be done with treatment, and then you'll be hearing NED NED NED for many a year.

Its not too soon to be

Its not too soon to be hopeful. Hope is a very powerful tool. Be cautiously hopeful though. I have always been hopeful but was to the point of being naive in my early days. I was diagnosed stage IV in 2005 but have had 4 recurrences since then. Although i wasnt cured i am still here beating the statistics.

    Cautious

i understand.  I dont think I am naive.  If this turns into a chronic condition and I can stay alive I will very happy.  You are still beating it and that is a very good thing. i appreciate your thoughts, I know you are going through a lot right now.  I wish you the best.

    Congrats!

Having no evidence of tumor activity and such a low CEA is awesome.  You deserve a break from worry, even though you don't have a break from chemo yet.  Hopefully it lasts for a long time!

    Great News

Congrats.  My 7th chemo hook-up is tommorow and a scan at the end of the month, so reading this is great.
