welcome to the board. You may have been told already that your numbers may refer to recurrence. After surgery a PSA greater than 0.2 ng/ml is indicative of treatment failure. At 0.4 one is usually moved to a salvage depending on one's health status.

Can you share more details about your initial diagnosis. What was your Gleason and PSA before surgery?

Can you describe the contents of the pathologist's report post surgery (the pathological stage) ?

Have you done any image exam or bone scan?

If I remember correctly, gleason was 4-3=7 psa was 9,8 before surgery....stage ll . Have an appointment with my UR this coming Tuesday....just trying to educate myself....feeling lost...

Salvage treatment after surgery failure ia usually radiation therapy (IMRT) that can be done in combination with hormonal treatment. Just google this:

"Salvage radiotherapy for prostate cancer"

I think you should read past threads and prepare a list of questions for your next appointment. It may be better if someone accompany you.
